Overview
Vivint Solar needed a standalone explainer video focused specifically on how their solar battery system works. I created the full storyboard and planned the entire sequence, mapping each part of the voiceover to the corresponding visuals to ensure clarity and smooth pacing. The goal was to explain how excess energy is stored, how the battery supports the home during outages or peak hours, and how it connects to an existing solar setup. I animated the video in After Effects using sourced graphics and custom illustrations, and I cleaned and refined the voiceover in Adobe Audition.
Problem
Customers often needed a simple explanation of the battery system without having to watch the full solar explainer video. Sales teams needed a focused and easy to understand resource that explained only the battery process, since the available materials were too broad and included unnecessary solar concepts.
Solution
Using my self-created storyboard as the guide, I built an animated sequence that matched every section of the voiceover with clear visuals, simple diagrams, and smooth transitions. The video focused entirely on battery storage, energy flow, and real usage scenarios so customers could quickly understand how their system operates. With improved voiceover timing and polished audio, the final video became an effective and user friendly standalone resource for both new and existing solar customers.
