Overview
Vivint Solar needed an animated explainer video to help sales representatives clearly communicate how solar energy is collected, stored, used, and integrated with the electric grid. I sourced and created custom graphics, then animated the full process in After Effects to break down concepts such as power production, consumption, excess energy, and shortfall scenarios. The video also included voiceover, which I cleaned and mixed in Adobe Audition for clarity and pacing.
Problem
Solar energy can be difficult for customers to visualize, and sales teams needed a simple, engaging way to explain how Vivint Solar’s systems operate from start to finish. Existing materials were text-heavy and lacked a clear visual narrative, making it harder for representatives to communicate key concepts like net metering, energy flow, and production versus usage.
Solution
I designed a step-by-step animated explainer that walked viewers through the entire solar process using clean graphics, clear sequencing, and approachable motion. By combining sourced elements with custom illustrations, I created a cohesive visual language that made technical ideas easy to understand. The final video (complete with polished voiceover, sound cleanup, and refined pacing) became a valuable tool for sales representatives, improving customer comprehension and streamlining the education process.
